FOR PARENTS · WRITTEN PLAINLY

Safety & privacy.

Seven commitments to your family, in language a parent should be able to read in five minutes and understand completely.

Commitment 01

Free forever. No paid tier, ever.

Your family's access to C.U.L.T. Kids is free. There is no subscription. There is no trial that converts to billing. There is no premium version with the "good" content locked behind a paywall.

The platform's ongoing operation is funded through The Cultivation Foundation (an Ohio nonprofit corporation in formation, applying for 501(c)(3) public charity status), not by the families it serves. If a paid tier is ever proposed — which is not planned — it requires a formal board vote, immediate notice to every active family, and a 90-day notice period. That's written into the Family Agreement.

Commitment 02

No advertising. No algorithm.

There are zero ads on this platform. Not banner ads. Not sponsored content. Not affiliate links. Not "recommended for you" nudges from a partner brand.

There is also no algorithm in the social-media sense — no engagement loop designed to keep your child scrolling, no infinite feed, no dopamine-tuned notifications. Content is organized by topic (which we call "planets"), and your child chooses where to go. The platform serves your cadet. Not the metrics.

Commitment 03

COPPA-aware. Privacy-first by architecture.

Per-family logins. Per-cadet profiles stored in localStorage on your device, not on our servers. No personal information is harvested — no addresses, no birthdays, no photos, no contact lists. No third-party tracking pixels. No Google Analytics. No Meta pixel. Nothing follows you off the platform.

The platform is yours, on your hardware. When your family closes an account, the local data is wiped by clearing localStorage in your browser. There is no server-side account for us to hold onto.

Commitment 04

Bounded AI. No generative guessing at children.

Nyasia, the platform's navigator, has a knowledge-graph brain — not a large language model. She only knows what is documented on this platform. She does not search the open internet. She does not read the news. She does not make things up. She cannot hallucinate, by architectural design.

If a child asks Nyasia something she does not know, she says so and offers a documented alternative. She does not confidently invent an answer, because she has no generative capability to invent with.

Commitment 05

Your child's data is never used to train AI.

Nothing your child does on the platform — no keystroke, no worksheet, no journal entry, no drawing, no message — is sent to any AI provider for training. We do not have data-sharing agreements with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, or anyone else that would allow them to train on your child's activity.

The AI tools we use to build the platform (Claude for writing code, Midjourney for illustrations) never touch your child's account or usage data. The building tools and the platform's data layer are architecturally separated.

Commitment 06

Consent before naming. Consent before featuring.

We do not cite external creators or feature outside voices on the platform without their explicit written permission. The platform was built by a parent for families — that same respect extends to every voice we eventually feature.

If your child creates something worth sharing on the platform (a poem, a project, a spoken piece), we ask you and your child every time. Never assumed. Never automatic. You control what leaves your family's private space.

Commitment 07

Direct contact with a real person. Not a support queue.

Every reply to family@cultlife.net comes from a person — the builder, or Nyasia (the platform's namesake and its host on the family-facing side). Never a chatbot. Never a ticketing system. Never an outsourced call center.

If you have a question, a concern, or a story to share, you get a real reply from a real human, usually within 24 hours.
