The Studio.
Where the discipline lives.
A new prompt every day. Quick or deep. Real-world or invented. Show up. The streak is the point. Skipped a day? Pick back up tomorrow.
Today’s prompt
Draw the inside of your refrigerator.
5-15 minutes. Any medium. Don’t make it beautiful. Make it true.
Why this prompt: the refrigerator is one of the most photographed objects in your home and one of the least DRAWN. Forces you to handle a complex still life with overlapping cylinders (jars), rectangles (bricks of butter), curves (eggs, leftovers in containers), and reflective surfaces. Everything fundamental in one shelf.
The rotation
Six prompt types, rotating.
Observation
Look at something real and draw it. Object, person, place, hand.
Invention
Make something up that doesn’t exist. A creature, a building, a tool.
Emotion
Draw a feeling. Loneliness. Excitement. Confusion. Don’t draw faces — draw the feeling.
Master copy
Copy a master’s drawing as carefully as you can. The lesson is what you notice.
Style swap
Take something you’d normally draw and render it in a different style. Realism in cubism. Pop in oil.
Memory
Draw something you remember. A childhood room. A face that’s gone. A dream.
Rules of the Studio
Four things, always.
Streaks forgive.
Miss a day? Start a new streak tomorrow. The streak is encouragement, not pressure.
Variety draws.
The rotation keeps your eye fresh. Don’t skip prompt types you don’t like — those are the ones you need.
Drops never expire.
Save your favorites. The Studio archive is your own.
No dark notifications.
No ‘you’ll lose your streak’ panic messages. The Studio is for joy and discipline, not anxiety.
