The FEEL World

If you can name what you feel, you can choose what to do with it. If you can't name it, it's the one driving.

Naming It

You cannot do anything with a feeling you cannot name.

"I am fine" when you are not, and you do not know what you are instead. Anger sitting on top of something quieter. Two opposite feelings that refuse to cancel out. Being told by somebody else what you feel. Ten of them, starting with three words — mad, sad, scared — because naming it is a skill nobody is born with and almost nobody is taught.

What this planet is aboutread once
Naming a feeling doesn't make it smaller. It makes it yours. Whatever's named is something you can decide about. Whatever stays unnamed is the thing deciding for you.

How deep this planet goes

Every planet is taught in four layers. They are all on this page — the missions above are labelled with the layer they belong to.

Activity · Try It Now

The Feeling Wheel.

Most people only know four feeling words. Builders know forty. Drill down through the wheel to find the precise word for what you actually feel right now.

More on this planet

Every planet has four deeper rooms — a roadmap of all the workshops on it, a parent-readable tools tier list, a hands-on playground specific to the subject, and a printable kit for the kitchen table. The doors light up as each is curated and built.

PLANET · FEEL

Name Your Emotions.

If you can name what you feel, you can choose what to do with it. If you can't name it, it's the one driving.

Why this matters

Three things that change in you the moment you take this seriously.

You stop being controlled by feelings you don't recognize
Anger that's actually fear feels different once you name it. Sadness that's actually exhaustion goes away after sleep. Naming changes the move.
You can tell other people what's going on
"I'm mad" gets one response. "I'm hurt because I thought you forgot" gets a completely different one.
You become a safer person to be around
Kids and adults who can name feelings are the calm ones in a group. The ones who scare nobody. The ones people trust.

The Signal

Listening, paraphrase, hard conversations. Every workshop on this planet leans on knowing what you actually feel before you speak.

The Library

Writing is one of the oldest tools for naming feelings. Three foundation workshops on putting what's inside into words.

Today's challenge
Run the wheel above. Find your word for right now.

Then say it out loud to one person you trust — even if it's just "I'm feeling restless today" or "I'm wistful right now." That sentence, said out loud, is the whole skill. Most adults can't do it. You're learning while you're young.

The long arc

This planet is one stop on a single curriculum, not a standalone topic. The same subject is taught at every level of C.U.L.T. — a cadet who starts at Sparks never starts over.

  1. Sparks · Chispasages 3–6Feel · mad, sad, scared — three words to start with.
  2. Kidsages 6/7–12Naming it, and putting down the second feeling — the one ABOUT the feeling. You are here
  3. Teensages 13–17Regulation, empathy and repair; two true feelings at once.
  4. Adult18+Knowing your own weather — and being the steady one for somebody else.

Every level is open to everybody. Nobody is asked their age, and nobody is tracked. A grown adult who never got taught this is welcome to start at the bottom rung, and a twelve-year-old who is ready is welcome to climb.
