The Studio · Workshop 09 · Mastery
Five steps. About 25 minutes. Up to 7 stars. The constellation you're building is called First Stage.
A great song badly performed is just a great song people forgot. A medium song performed with full presence is a song people remember.
Performance isn't acting. Performance is presence. It's letting the people in the room actually feel what the song is about — through your face, your body, the way you breathe between lines.
Nerves are normal. Even people who have performed a thousand times get nervous. The trick isn't to make nerves go away. The trick is to know what to do with them.
By the end of this workshop you'll have written your own pre-show plan — the thing you'll do before you step into the lights, every time.
That's the warm-up. When you've actually read it — not skimmed — tap below.
Pick all that fit.
Click a challenge, then a response that helps.
List 4 things you'll do, in order, in the 10 minutes before you perform. Make it real — things you actually would do.
Stuck? Start with breathing. Then water. Then one line of the song to yourself. Then look at one friendly face in the room.
Write the line. Make it short.
