The Signal · Workshop 08 · Mastery
Five steps. About 25 minutes. Up to 7 stars. The constellation you're building is called First Boundary.
A boundary is a limit you set on what you'll do or what you'll accept. Not a fight. Not a guilt trip. A clear statement of where the line is.
Most kids (and most adults) overpack boundaries. They explain too much, apologize for setting them, or hedge so heavily the boundary disappears. "I'm sorry but I really can't do that today, I mean I could but I have so much going on, but if you really need me I guess I could try..." That's not a boundary. That's a maybe.
A clean boundary has three parts. What you won't do or won't accept. Said clearly, without apology. Without an essay of justification. "I can't help with that this weekend" or "please don't talk to me that way." One sentence is enough.
By the end of this workshop you'll have written 3 clean boundaries you can actually use.
That's the warm-up. When you've actually read it — not skimmed — tap below.
Pick the ones that are clean — clear, no apology overload, no essay.
Click a mistake, then what it does.
Pick 3 real situations in your life where you need a boundary. Write each one cleanly — one sentence each, no over-explaining.
Stuck? Examples: 1. "Please knock before you come in my room." 2. "I won't loan things to friends I haven't gotten back from before." 3. "I don't want to talk about that."
Name it.
