The Lab · Workshop 07 · Mastery
Five steps. About 25 minutes. Up to 7 stars. The constellation you're building is called First Diffusion.
Drop a tea bag in still water. Nobody pushed the tea. But within a minute it's spread through the cup. That's diffusion — the constant motion of molecules nobody told you about.
Every molecule in your room is in motion right now. They're vibrating, bumping, drifting. When you can smell pizza from down the hall, the pizza molecules drifted there — through air — without anyone pushing them.
Diffusion is molecules spreading out from where they're crowded to where they're not. Osmosis is the special case where water specifically moves through a barrier toward the saltier side. Both are how living things eat, breathe, and stay alive.
By the end of this workshop you'll have explained one example of diffusion or osmosis in your own life.
That's the warm-up. When you've actually read it — not skimmed — tap below.
Pick all that fit.
Click an example, then the right name.
Pick something real. Walk through how it happens at the molecular level — in your own words. Don't sound smart; sound clear.
Stuck? Use: putting a sliced strawberry in sugar. Within an hour the strawberry is in a pool of liquid. Why? Sugar pulled water OUT of the strawberry through the cell walls. Osmosis.
Name it.
